Our Story

We Thrive on Dream Weaving.

TAG Design has pinch-me moments, on-mountain board meetings, and a portfolio of clients who mirror our passion for inspired living and adventure. Longtime Aspenite and TAG founder Karrie Sims has 20+ years' experience in publishing, graphic design, and media.
FOUNDER/CREATIVE DIRECTOR

Karrie Sims

A Seattle native with a passion for the mountains, Karrie moved to Aspen in April 1999 and intended to stay for one season. Many years and two sons later, she’s committed to work, family, travel, and adventure.
Karrie is passionate about graphic design and has 20+ years’ experience in the field. She began her editorial career with several magazines, including Aspen Magazine, Aspen Ideas (a custom publication for the Aspen Institute), Snow, and Sojourner. Soon after she launched her own publication, the Roaring Fork DV Guide. Finding a niche in travel publications, Karrie moved on to create and design Curated Magazine for Exclusive Resorts and Aspire Magazine for Southworth Development. She has rebranded existing publications, including Ultimate Experiences and The Resort and Hotels Collection for Signature Travel Network, Hinckley Yachts and Living for Windermere Real Estate.

She creates witty and poignant ad campaigns and designs everything from logos to websites. She’s also worked with several non-profits, including Challenge Aspen, Aspen Art Museum, and the Chris Klug Foundation.

When she’s not playing with fonts and layouts, you’ll find her snowboarding, mountain biking, and hiking in Aspen’s backyard.

PHOTO DIRECTOR + PRODUCTION DESIGNER

Stefanie Michejda

Stefanie launched her career as the Aspen Daily News Chief Photographer. She now calls Northern California home, where she was the Photo Editor for 7x7 Magazine and California Home & Design prior to joining TAG Design.

With more than 25 years of photography experience, Stef has photographed everything from musicians and athletes to travel and food. She is always up for an adventure with camera in hand, be it rafting the Grand Canyon, horseback riding across the Patagonian steppes, or swimming through caves to access hidden beaches. When she’s not behind the lens, she's chasing her husband and two boys down the steeps of Palisades Tahoe, hiking on the trails surrounding Lake Tahoe, obsessing over her next opportunity for oysters, and plotting her next off-the-beaten-path escape.
